J-Eagle

J-Eagle emerges as a true example of what it means to be “Radical!” His music exemplifies every aspect of a spirit-filled, righteous for the cause, rebel who isn’t afraid. Born as Lenwood Jamaal Bethea to now Pastors Linwood and Karen Bethea on July 12th, 1986, J-Eagle always showed a big interest in sharing and caring for people.  As he later in life understood himself more, he realized the power that he had in the words that he said. Having said that, J-Eagle fell in love with rap music in 1998 after hearing the song “Triumph” by the Wu Tang Clan. Since then he has been writing songs about real life and the issues we are facing everyday.  His influences include Jay-Z, Ludacris, Nas, Mos Def, Common, Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Method Man, LeCrae, Cross Movement, Da Truth, and more. J-Eagle along with Faithful (a former group member) was formerly a member of Baltimore based Christian rap group “Word and Rap” or Word in Rap” meaning the word of God brought to the listeners ears through songs and rhymes. They humbly served as members of this group for six years until they felt the release of God to go forward and minister to Gods people with an act separate from “Word in Rap.” On June 14th, 2008, J-Eagle was married to Lawren Turpin, now Lawren Bethea and was given the gift of a son named Bryson. Also J-Eagle's wife gave birth to a baby girl, Natalie Grace Bethea on August 7th, 2009. Because of this addition to his life, he now has an even bigger drive to succeed and make the lives of his family the best it can be. J-Eagles talents go further than just rapping. He has the talents of song writing, producing, and now thanks to Joel “Lagrand” Frazier, the ability of Engineering. He is the mastermind behind the hit song “STOMP (the devil lower) and many choruses, verses, ideas and concepts used by “Word in Rap.” He has a never ending passion for making people understand that there’s no better life to live than to be in your destiny which is where he wants to be be.
