RAY SMITH (The Loc Soc Man)
The creator and manufacturer of the Original Loc Soc by Shades of Color. Back in 1992, Ray, along with his wife of 19 years formed Shades of Color, a full service fashion design studio specializing in but not limited to bridal design, located in Newark, NJ. Ray developed several successful accessory lines for the company, including a handbag and scarf line that has been featured in numerous magazines and trade dailies. On a hot summer day in 1995, while working in the design studio, Ray had an epiphany, and the 1st LOC SOC was created. Since then, Ray has traveled extensively throughout the country and abroad to promote his latest creation. The buzz that was created in 1995 is now a loud roar with many attempting to copy the LOC SOC, but nothing beats an Original. A true renaissance man, this former personal banker is a writer, former music producer, and actor, and on occasion will pick up a paint brush when inspiration hits him. With a jam packed schedule Ray always finds time to pursue his true passion, Mentoring! In 2005 Ray co-founded The Hillside Hurricanes “Future Leaders", a child motivation and mentoring service located in Hillside, NJ. Ray also coaches football and basketball youth teams.
